Yesterday, we visited St Jean de Luz, a picturesque beach town an hour's drive away. Located about 17 km southwest of Bayonne in southwestern France near the Spanish border, St Jean de Luz boasts a beautiful, long sandy beach as well as a wonderful pedestrian shopping area, lots of little cafes serving seafood and tapas, Basque architecture and superb surf conditions. There is also a small fishing port here, where you can watch fisherman pull in large catches of sardines, anchovies and tuna.
I guess lots of people had the same idea as Fred since yesterday's weather was sunny and not too cold. There was a traffic jam going into the centreville where the beach is located and we faced another traffic jam when we left!
